| Introduction | My academic and professional life has been focused on analyzing credit markets to some degree or another, giving me a unique perspective and more open minded approach to analyzing the recent financial crisis and balance sheet recession developed nations are experiencing today. I started this blog, Functional Finance, as a way to publicly share my views, create a sounding board if anyone chooses to engage in thoughtful discussion, and as a point of reference when I post in the comments of other economics blogs.
