Introduction Thanks for wanting to learn a little bit more about me and my history interests in Park County! But first things first. I grew up in a Chicago suburb and moved to Colorado Springs after graduating from a small Illinois college. I later went back to school and earned a second degree in Sociology/Criminology, then went to work in the Criminal Justice field in the Springs (the job was through the State) for over 22 years. I married, had a family and after retiring in 2004, I moved up to the Denver Metro area to be near my kids. I love it up here! People often ask why I’m so interested in Park County history since never lived there. My best answer is that my heart is home in this area and that the history comes alive! My first interest has always been in the Buckskin Joe Mining District and I just self-published a book on the remote cemetery there. I then branched out, learning about the other mining districts and began volunteering with the Park County Local History Archives, which I am now president of. Although I am by no means an expert on Park history, I love learning about it and sharing my knowledge via this website. Thanks for visiting!
