| Introduction | i am a wifey, a mommy, a letterpress printer. a palm reader once told me i was an "old soul" probably because i have over wrinkly hands for my age and maybe she could tell that i had pre-mature greys twenty some years too early. i think it's true though. i like old things-- my parent's vintage typewriter, their clothes from the 70's, old homes, old books. old is good. old has character.. charm.. it tells a story. that's probably why i fell in love with letterpress-- because it's old. letterpress is the oldest printing technique dating back to the 15th century. everytime i pull the lever of my press or run my hand along the flywheel, someone older and wiser and with a greater story to tell once did the same thing. how cool is that? |
