Introduction Nomi has been with the Brooklyn Public Library for more than 17 years and presently works in the Society, Sciences & Technology division at the Central Library. Previously, he has facilitated online discussions on Hermann Hesse's Siddhartha, Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God, Erich Fromm's The Art of Loving, O Henry's A Cosmopolite in a Cafe, Banned Books Across Cultures, New Understandings of Human Potentials, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's The Evolving Self, Self & Identity, Ken Wilber's Integral Spirituality, How to Interpret Literature, and Thomas Foster's How to Read Literature Like a Professor, among others. Nomi has also been facilitating a philosophy discussion group at the Central Library since 2006. The discussions are attended by patrons from diverse backgrounds, and tend to explore inter-disciplinary, cross-cultural and multi-perspectival modes of thinking, applied to a wide range of topics of contemporary and educational relevance.
