Introduction A keen beer enthusiast with 40 year’s experience of beer, pubs and brewing, both in the UK and abroad. I have been writing this blog for 10 years and have published over 1,000 posts. Apart from beer, and the enjoyment of it, I enjoy travelling and walks in the countryside. A CAMRA member since the mid 1970's I have edited several local branch magazines and have also published, two guides to Kent pubs. A fully-trained beer taster I have judged at several CAMRA beer festivals and conducted a number of guided beer tastings. I am an accomplished home-brewer producing a wide range of full-mash beers. I am married and live with my wife in the beautiful Kentish Weald. For six years we both ran a successful real-ale off-licence, which as well as selling cask ale, offered one of the best selections of bottled beers in the south east. After selling the off-licence, I travelled extensively visiting many classic European beer destinations, as well as places further afield. These include Japan, the United States and China. As with beer, I write about my travel experiences, in order to inspire readers to check out some of these places for themselves.
