Introduction	I’m intrigued & captivated by mere elements of mortar and glass as end results of architecture...tall & mirrored glass buildings. Large windowed forms transfers reflections of ordinary buildings into flowing illusions of mutated & curiously surreal shapes. The familiar inanimate world around me teeters on a balance of animated & unexpected imagery between what is perceived as real & what is not seen. My interest is pushing these images into that place between truth & fiction, to connect the human experience & animated planes of existence into the viewer’s subconscious mind. The viewer’s perception of these representational buildings I paint, hopefully stirs an interactive dialogue of duality’s, opposites & mixed messages when peering from this world into mine. In the end, my concerns are involving the viewer with components of mystery and ambiguity, conventional/bizarre, humorous/ominous, good/evil are the parallels I create with bold color in, on, & around my interpretations of these fantasy-like building shapes. Painting this subject matter of mortar & glass onto soft & delicate silk is a duality in & of itself, an irony.
