Introduction I am a first generation American Muslim Brown Third World feminist woman living in America in a post September 11th world. I am the oldest child to come from an unstable marriage. I have survived depression, loss, trauma, fire, failure, heartbreak, physical abuse, writer’s block, racism, misogyny, xenophobia and stupidity. I flourish despite the obstacles thrown in my path; I have been able to surround myself with positive, supportive people who highlight and encourage my strength and endurance. I am myself, offering no apologies and having no regrets. Life is too short to be scared of conflict, pain, trauma or happiness.
