Introduction I sometimes feel like I've been cooking for a hundred years, then I remind myself I'm not that old and sigh in relief. I am from a food family. The kids in our family were introduced to food preparation and cooking early in life and most of us have dreamed of owning a restaurant or being involved in the industry at one time or another. I have puttered in its fringe, on and off, whenever the "cooking bug" overwhelmed me with a need I could not fight. I ended up working in many kitchens: restaurants, catering, cooking school and even ran my own catering business, part-time. As a freelance writer and graphic artist by trade and an avid epi-curious cook by avocation, it's time to combine the two and write about one of my passions - food; how to buy it, cook it, serve and eat it, and how to do it without breaking your budget. In my book, you show love every time you humble yourself to become a servant, providing nourishment or giving hospitality to another. So let's not only live to eat, but learn how to eat to live and love...together!
