Introduction There was a time in the not so distant past that I was trying to juggle it all - my husband, my two kids, my corporate job, my house too far from work and the endless amount of dishes and laundry. Once my husband began traveling for work, I found myself as a 'single parent' juggling it all. I just couldn't do it. I left my job to help my my dyslexic son, raise his little sister, be a supportive wife and to keep my home. There was a problem – I didn’t know how. My mother only sees value in the job that one has in the workforce. She was horrified that I was going to throw my career away to be a ‘damn useless housewife’. My friends were all co-workers and former co-workers. None had small children like me. I was alone in my exploration on how to be a homemaker. I was even more alone in how to find joy doing it. My journey is far from over, but I am beginning to see that there is value in my place at home.
