Introduction	Mr. McMahon is a poet trapped in the body of a trial warrior. He is a California State Bar Certified Specialist in both Criminal and Appellate Law, one of the few lawyers to hold that rare dual certification. As a Past President of the California Public Defenders Association, McMahon is well-connected and well-briefed regarding the fair administration of justice in California and our nation. McMahon teaches appellate and trial practice courses at two law schools on California's Central Coast, and has been appointed Chief Deputy Public Defender in charge of Writs, Appeals, and Training for Ventura County. A father of three, Michael lives in the small coastal community of Carpinteria, just down the road a piece from Santa Barbara. His other interests include rugby, jet skis, poetry, comedy, and the cinema.
