| Introduction | This blog was originally conceived in January 2010, when my hubby and I made a New Year's resolution to not purchase anything from China (yes, we're those crazy people). I was convinced that a blog would keep us (read: me) honest and accountable. A year went by and on the 365th day, I re-christened this blog Drunk on Words. Although I do various sorts of freelance writing, it all tends to be pretty non-fiction at the end of the day. Creative writing is really my bee's knees, so this has morphed into an outlet for that addiction. I'm passionate about all sorts of things, among them photography, so you should expect to see my creative juices bubble over in this space. |
| Interests | As I am the primary bread winner at this minute in time - my hubby is trading the undergraduate world for that lofty arena called grad school - I figured I needed to state my work mantra. It is comprised of the following two sentences...Who the hell says 9 to 5 is normal? Bet you Dracula doesn't think that...That being said, I relish holding four or five jobs at a time. I work as a freelance writer and editor; I teach violin & piano lessons, both privately and at a local art center; I babysit; and I work at a bed & breakfast. I've unearthed several passions so far...I believe there may be more coming. I love to write, garden, take pictures, create gourmet meals with Drew in our shoebox-sized kitchen, laugh, knit scarves, read thick novels that make me think, doodle, and hike closed sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains with my husband and two quirky cats, Tupelo Honey and Trixie. |
