Introduction | I am a Texan, born and raised. In my youth, I admired my mother’s roses. Today, I grow my own. In my younger days, I lived on a farm. There I fell in love with the natural world. In my heart there is a special place for all native Texas plants. I am a wife and mother of two daughters. I owe a great deal to my husband for his assistance in the garden. It would not look the way it does without his efforts. My girls are teenagers and it is hard believe how quickly they grew from children. My oldest will enter college in the fall of 2012. With the urging of family, I decided to begin documenting my adventures in gardening. This blog will be a record of my garden’s life. An added plus is the creative, friendly group of blogging gardeners. I am excited to connect with them through our blogs. My garden is located in Northwest Houston, USDA hardiness zone 9A. I have been gardening on this small suburban lot for 18 years. Of course the garden is always a work in progress. It is the journey that I love most. Each day is a new day. There is always a new interest, something to grab your attention and reel you in for a closer look. Thank you for visiting my blog. |
