Introduction | I consider myself a macrobiotic vegan. For me, this means that my diet consists of mainly local, seasonal, whole and minimally processed foods while I avoid all animal products. Animal products include most white sugar, gelatin, dairy, fish, chicken, and leather. It's amazing how many people ask if I eat chicken when I tell them, "no animal products". I share a house with my partner, JD, and our two feral rescue cats, Chaucer and Casanova. I'm the only vegan in the house, but they are my willing guinea pigs. The house (almost) always smells like food. JD and I like to sprout plants from foods that we've eaten (like avocado pits and pineapple tops), and try to grow food we hope to eat. We recently moved back to my hometown, and enjoy exploring it. I teach. I learn. I experiment. |
