Introduction Award-winning author Terry McLaughlin never wanted to be a writer, even after a college professor suggested she give it a try (her response contained the words “root canal”). Ten years later, she read a romance novel and got hooked on the genre. She still can’t explain why she started writing during that first flush of her romance with romance, but she realized she’d found a way to indulge her new obsession with happily-ever-after stories. She sold her first book, Learning Curve, to a Harlequin Superromance editor who was judging a writing contest, and she dedicated that book to the college professor who'd nudged her down the path to publication. The three award-winning books in her Bright Lights, Big Sky series for Harlequin quickly followed. A fifth book, A Perfect Stranger, was released in January of 2008, followed by the three books in her Small Town series. Terry lives with her husband on a tiny ranch on the northern California coast, tucked amid the redwoods.
