About me

Introduction I'm an English major who finally found her muse, looking auspiciously like a bag of spinach, in a winter CSA box. Blessed as I am with a Mom who cooks and a Dad who gardened, my destiny as a lover of fresh, local food and cooking was assured practically in toddlerhood. I use recipes from everywhere, usually alter them shamelessly, and sometimes make them up. Credit will be given. My motto is "It's not health food if nobody eats it." So anything showing up on this blog must taste great. Ingredients shown in bold print are local. On January 1, 2011, we decided not to eat grains (except some rice now and then) and legumes, sugar, and vegetable seed oils, along the lines of The Perfect Health Diet (link below). We currently remain pleased with that way of eating.
