| Introduction | In August 2009, at the age of 41, I was unexpectantly diagnosed with a stage 3/grade 3 6cm breast cancer tumour. I completed seven sessions of chemo (EC and Tax), followed by breast conserving surgery, and then 20 sessions of radiotherapy. My treatment finally ended in June 2010. I set up a blog for a number of reasons. Firstly, it allowed gave me the opportunity to consider, reflect and summarise the feelings that I was confronted with. It also enabled me to explain to my friends and colleagues what was going on in my life. Lastly, I wanted it to prevent people from forgetting me (out of sight and out of mind!) and encourage them to stay in contact with me - which was much appreciated at what was a lonely and isolating time. Apologies to any fashionistas or horticulturists who have googled and come across my site in error! It does happen! |
