Introduction	I am a volunteer puppy-raiser and puppy counselor for Leader Dogs for the Blind based in Rochester, MI. Follow my blog "plays with puppies" for fun stories, training tips, pictures, poems--all about puppies! My blog "puppies inside" chronicles the Leader Dogs prison puppy-raising program in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. FLD Henry is the sixth puppy I am raising for Leader Dogs, although I "started" two puppies for a couple of weeks in 2014 that were destined to be raised in Michigan prisons. I've been involved with training dogs professionally since 2004. And I've owned dogs all my adult life. It never ceases to amaze me how much I learn from our canine companions! I dabble in photography (digital now) and poetry, so expect to see some mixed-media in my blogs. My interests are varied, and I've done more than a few crazy things (how 'bout racing a mountain bike in Alaska along the Iditarod Trail during the winter! or spending 24 hours climbing stairs?), so while I'll try not to wander from my "puppy" topic, I might get carried away on a tangent now and again. Just a warning!
