Introduction I began collecting stamps in the 1950s at about the age of 9 with H.E. Harris stamp packets and cheap albums and loved it. I gradually moved into a new (birthday present) Scott National album and a few other adult albums in my teenage years and did pretty well. I joined APS and a few other organizations along the way. Then with adolescence and college and grad school and a career, most of that got put aside. Now older and with my kids grown up, I've been able to work my way back into collecting more. I've acquired some Big Blue volumes (used and new) plus a lot of Davo and Scott albums, nearly all of them incomplete in some way. But I've had little time to put stamps in them. Maybe when I'm finally retired from teaching I'll be able to focus on that. In the meantime, I'm planning the albums I'll use and slowly buying stamps and hinges while looking for some "mother lode" collections to mine in order to fill those albums. It's all great fun even if I never make much progress, so no complaints no matter how far I get or don't get.
