| Introduction | I’ve bounced around a bit since my late teens and early twenties. Having worked in a number of random fields, lived all over the place, learnt to fly small airplanes and generally been unsure as to what to do with myself, I found my way to the Middle East, entirely by accident. I’ve been living in Beirut, Lebanon for around 5 years, give or take. Having turned up in the country on a family holiday, I stumbled into the American University of Beirut (AUB). Not quite knowing what I wanted to do with myself, I embarked on a Master of Arts course in political science. For my sins, I met my wife while at AUB, and have been here ever since. |
