Introduction I saved a dog and lost my mind. I quit my job to make the world a better place and am quite certain I'm failing miserably. I got married, didn't take my husband's last name, am joyfully child-free and people seem to think this gives them license to ask me personal questions like, "Do you hate Jesus? Is that why you don't have children?" I'm quite certain it's only a matter of time before I'm accused of witchcraft and cannibalism.
Interests Pretending Lorelai and Rory Gilmore are real people, reading, looking for grammatical errors in national publications, scrapbooking OPP (other people's pictures), eating, mocking others, biting my nails, listening to show tunes, debating the merits of Mystic Tan, idolizing Carolyn Hax and Amalah.
Favorite Movies And the Band Played On, Saved!, Chicago, Best in Show, Dogma, Zoolander, The Wedding Singer, Elf, Can't Hardly Wait, Longtime Companion, Love Actually, If These Walls Could Talk (first vignette Vol. 1), 187, Crash, Dangerous Minds, Supersize Me
Favorite Music Show tunes, classical, 80s (which is not what I consider retro since it's the music of my youth), really anything but country and heavy metal. And lately? I'm just worshipping PINK.
Favorite Books Devices and Desires, Backlash, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe, Affluenza, Fast Food Nation, Misconceptions, East of Eden, Sacred Origins of Profound Things, Don't Know Much About the Bible, Culture Clash (The Other End of the Leash), Back Rooms, Ragtime, Thinking Out Loud, The Color of Water, Nickel and Dimed, He's Just Not that Into You, Bergdorf Blondes, The Nanny Diaries, The Gift of Fear, The Red Tent, Welcome to My Planet: Where English is Sometimes Spoken, White Oleander, The Handmaid's Tale
