Gender Male
Occupation subversive lickspittle
Introduction A keen cartoon creator, with a manic imagination. My drawings are a blend of old-style cartooning and pencil/inking, infused with modern coloring techniques.
Interests contact me at: my e-mail adress detailed in my blog pages [yes, it's my real e-mail address!] for drawing work or other enquiries. I am into: DIY, home cooking from scratch, cycling, regular cinema viewing, front- projecting films at home on a 9 ft wide screen, Emma Peel, British naughty postcards [50s-70s], History of WW2, and History of the 20th Century in general, vintage UK comedy, regular exercize, butcher meat, occassional overseas travel, Cinefex Magazine, UK comics of the 1950s, 60s and 70s:[ D C Thomson/ IPC/ Odhams, etc---the rot set in during the 80s---the only worthwhile British comic still standing is 2000 AD/ Judge Dredd---the rest are all well past their sell-by date---glorious 40-50 years ago, though!]] the opposite sex, proper hi-fi with bulky seperates and huge speakers, Audrey Hepburn, the pin-up work of Gil Elvgren, Max Fleischer/ Tex Avery animations, fantasy cinema [silent era-now] radio, meeting people, pub visits, drinking at home. Turn-offs: politics, snobbery, repellent people on specialist forums, being stuck on a computer for hours on end----even for cartooning-----, modern TV, techno and rap music, mobile phones, [tablets are OK, though] processed food, Political Correctness, sport, drugs, consumerism, elitism, smugness, over-complicated modern technology like downloading, firmware updates, etc, [blu-ray is a great advancement but to me the technology was put out before being perfected], the rat-race, people living a lie [just admit most of the System is a farce, like I do!]
Favorite Movies King Kong [1933 version especially: best movie ever! The Fly [1958 original] and A Clockwork Orange [1971] are the only two films that ever disturbed me: both are covered on this blog. Dead of Night [1945] is a third contender. Other films that impressed me: Blade Runner 1982, [quite possibly the finest sci-fi film ever] Pinocchio [1940] Jason and the Argonauts, [1963] Metropolis [1926] Escape from Sobibor [TVM 1987]
Favorite Music 70s punk, [Crass/ Pistols/ Damned/some Clash, a fair chunk of Stranglers, most Siouxsie] glam, goth, 50s doowop, 60s cornball schmaltz. Abba [I'm proud, not ashamed!] Cheesie pop from yesteryear. Turn-offs: prog rock, boy band dross. the 60s and 70s was the best era for music---ever [and most of the 80s; even that House stuff around '88/'89 was fine] Prodigy are OK though reccommended reading-------
