About me

Location Austin, Texas
Introduction Thank you for visiting my gardening blog. I am a former elementary teacher. I am currently working on becoming a master gardener. Ever since I was little, I remember my Dad taking care of his vegetable garden. Railroad ties encompassed the garden the length of our property. The Oklahoma summers brought us tomatoes, eggplant, onions, peppers, etc. To this day, I can say I have never had a better tomato than my Dad's. As a young girl, I would stand right next to him and watch him at work. I would help him water and collect the vegetables. At that time, I didn't appreciate his "love" of gardening as I see it today. I look back on fond memories of helping and learning from my Dad. After moving to Texas, I have found myself designing our garden and watching the magic happen as it grows into beautiful architecture. My "love" of gardening has grown over the years. I'm absolutely in awe of all the variety of plants that flourish in central Texas! I don't claim to be an expert but I do know that I am constantly learning about gardening and have a deep desire to share my knowledge with others.
