| Introduction | I come from a very large, mixed family. I was home-schooled. I am Mormon and married. Loving my upbringing, I assumed I would follow in my mother's footsteps and have at least a ennead of kids. Once that didn't happen, I was in a quandary for years of what do since it took a while to leave the path of denial. I became a wedding photographer and loved the beauty and emotion of those amazing events. The bright spot in that experience was when the editor of Martha Steward Weddings Magazine requested that I submit a specific wedding for publication consideration. They didn't end up publishing my work, but I felt honored just being asked. Some difficult life experiences and health issues drew me away from weddings and I now only dabble in photography as I am taking everything I learned about color and composition and learning to paint. I plan to sell my work online, but my husband is excited about my skills and beginning to ask that I give my paintings to him to hang then up at home. I guess we will see where this adventure leads once our walls are filled. My mom was an art major in college, so I guess I am following in her footsteps after all. |
