| Introduction | Tom Reale joined the sports staff at The Record in 2011. A native of Ticonderoga, Tom graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2004 with a degree in Management and a Political Science minor. Tom covered RPI football's NCAA semifinal game against St. John's (Minn.) for the Rensselaer Polytechnic in 2003, an experience that introduced him to both the world of journalism and the state of Minnesota, where he lived for four years. From 2005 to 2007, he covered the St. Cloud State Huskies for US College Hockey Online, and from 2007 to 2008, he worked for the St. Cloud (Minn.) Times, covering high school football, basketball, ice hockey, and softball. Throughout his years in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Tom occasionally wrote feature articles for St. Cloud State game programs for women's volleyball and men's and women's ice hockey. After deploying to Iraq from 2008 to 2009 as a motor transport and operations NCO, Tom returned to the Capital District in the spring of 2010 and now resides in Green Island. He occasionally appears on WRPI-FM as a color commentator for Engineers hockey games. |
