Introduction
J. M. Hochstetler was born in central Indiana, the daughter of Mennonite farmers. She is a graduate of Indiana University. With bestselling author Bob Hostetler, she is writing the Northkill Amish Series closely based on the inspiring story of their Hochstetler ancestors. Book 1, Northkill, won ForeWord Magazine's 2015 IndieFab Bronze Award. Book 2, The Return, releases in 2017. In addition, she has published the first five books of the American Patriot Series set during the American Revolutionary War: Daughter of Liberty, Native Son, Wind of the Spirit, Crucible of War, and Valley of the Shadow. She has also published a contemporary novel, One Holy Night, winner of the Christian Small Publishers 2009 Book of the Year and finalist for the American Christian Fiction Writers 2009 Book of the Year.

Hochstetler was an editor at Abingdon Press for many years. She is currently publisher and editorial director of Sheaf House Publishers, which specializes in inspirational fiction.
