| Introduction | I'm a 39 year old gamer chick, who is finally going back to school to complete a bachelor's degree. I grew up following my parents around as they traveled to different universities to teach astronomy and do research. I lived mostly in Massachusetts and Colorado, though we also spent time in Ohio, Florida and British Columbia. I recently relocated from Boston to Kentucky for my job. In addition to working full-time, I’m studying geology at the University of Kentucky, which is a total blast. There’s a huge emphasis on fieldwork here, so I get to run around looking at rocks for fun! While I don’t have a lot of free time right now, I spend what little I have playing and running role-playing games, cross-stitching, reading, watching football (Go Pats!) and having fun with my two kids. Astronomy continues to be a life-long passion, which is why I'm using the Cat's Eye Nebula as a user pic, but I don’t have the time to indulge it as much as I would like. |
