Introduction What's to say? It's really not about me; it's about us. It's my hope that my musings about everyday life will help me to create more grace. I hope you find it here too. *This has been my personal blog. I'm utilizing it now to share information for people interested in keeping up with Dom's journey toward healing and our journey together to come out stronger on the other side.
Interests I am interested in all things lovely and beautiful, even if you have to dig to see them. I am interested in living a life worthy of all I have received. I am interested in conservation and enjoying the simple things. I like to explore and learn and create. I like to lay on the floor with my eyes closed lost in music. I like to watch blossoms turn into fruit.
Favorite Movies I am kind of picky about movies. My guilty pleasure: kid movies. Harry Potter, can't get enough of. Because really, who hasn't felt like they were banished to live under the stairs, and then, magically, a whole new world opens up? right.Wim Winders is one of the best directors. Foreign films are good. I am a sappy girl. I like costumes, and sad soundtracks. Anything Jane Austen. But just when you were cringing at the chick flick fest, hold on....don't forget The Big Lewbowski and The Big Hit...who knew? I am a sci-fi nerd, and lined up for the Lord of the Rings Triology. And for the record, I said precious regularly long before Gollum. I like action, I like subtitles. Picky, but not so picky. I think an all time favorite is "A Room with a View." Where else would you see a minister, and hot guys skinny dipping? Really, it's a great story.
Favorite Music I adore music. You play, I listen. Preferably Chopin or U2. Play me Little Wing by Hendrix or Stevie Ray, and I will melt. Make me choose who does it better, and I will pout. I love it when I am thinking a thought, and a song comes on that just totally describes what I am feeling. And I don't mean a tear in your beer kind of song that is a big boo hoo fest about a lost "love." I mean something that is totally life affirming, something that may not even have lyrics, but it carries me away. music=bliss Bliss=U2, Delirious, Over the Rhine, Coldplay, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Jeff Buckley, Emmylou Harris, Mumford and Sons, Beirut, Bonobo, Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Jem, The Postal Service, oh, don't leave out, Lynnard Skynnard, electronica and Reggae and occassionally something country. Mostly Willie Nelson or The Man in Black.Throw in some John Williams, Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker and Nina Simone, and I am set.
Favorite Books The Awakening, Jane Eyre, The Secret Life of Bees, The Scarlett Letter, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Wanderer, ....Steinbeck, Whitman, Emerson, Austen, Dillard, Lamott, Cummings, Oliver, Berry, Lewis, L'Engle......
