Gender Male
Occupation Wine Education
Location Castro Valley, California, United States
Introduction I discovered the beauty of the wine country in 1997 in Temecula California. In the year 2000 I returned to the S.F. Bay Area and began exploring the Napa Valley, Sonoma, the Santa Cruz Mountains, Livermore, Lodi, Monterey, the Sierra Foothills, Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, Lake County, Mendocino, the Russian River, Santa Rosa, and Madera. A few years later I began exploring Oregon as well. I then studied enology at Las Positas College and worked in three different wineries. In August 2012 I earned my WSET (Wine and Spirit Educational Trust) Advanced Certification. On March 13, 2014 I graduated from the Intensive Sommelier Training at the International Culinary Center in Campbell California and two weeks later on passed the Certified Sommelier Exam with the Court of Master Sommeliers. In 2015 I passed the French Wine Scholar Exam and began the two-year WSET Diploma program. My interest in wine also includes the history and philosophy of the people who have dedicated themselves to creating it. My goal is to share my experience and notes from my current study of wine, not tell people what they should or should not buy.
Interests Reading, writing, studying theology, and frequent trips out to the wine country.
