Introduction | Chris Okibi is an innovative and unconventional DJ, producer, and live performance artist from Victoria, BC. With an early beginning in jungle and drum & bass, and mentoring from some of the west coast's finest, Okibi has exploded onto the bass music scene, opening for acts such as 12th Planet, Noah D, Capital J, RCola, and ill.Gates. He brings a diverse selection of beats and styles to every set. From rolling liquid riddims, to dubwise exclusives, glitched-out dubstep, and forward-thinking UK funky, Okibi utilizes everything from vinyl to MIDI controllers. In late 2006, he founded Union Sound System Inc., a steadily growing network of avant-garde artists. Involved in a number of eclectic projects, from the VNLA nominated Dreadsteppas DJ crew, to the electro-punk stylings of AUTOMATON, Okibi stays true to the old school roots while pioneering future vibes. |

Lionesses have no manes. How do they know when they've grown up?
When they're large enough to take down a full-grown water buffalo.
