| Introduction | Up until about 6 years ago I was completely healthy, I'd never even had flu! Then out of the blue I developed asthma, which rapidly turned into brittle asthma, and had a huge impact on my life. I also have a little bit of bronchiectasis thrown in the mix too! The frequent bouts of struggling to breathe and low oxygen saturations put strain on my heart, leading to me having a heart attack aged 27. I still get coronary artery spasms which are like angina, but thankfully not very often now my lungs are slightly better behaved! Between hospital admissions, battling to be allowed to return to work, struggling to breathe and depression, life hasn't exactly been filled with fun times over the past few years, but it's getting there :-) |
