Introduction I'm a teacher of American journalism, science writing, and LGBT film--but fundamentally all academic writing skills--at a liberal arts college in the American midwest. I’m also interested in environmental issues, American studies, and technical editing. I sometimes test knit or crochet in my off time, when the pattern or technique interests me and someone is kind enough to entrust me with their creative offspring (patterns).
Interests non-fiction writing and connections between the visual and the verbal in it; knitting, crochet, spinning, poetry, ecology (the science of), recycling, photography, gardening, nature journaling
Favorite Movies lately, not much--Pan's Labrinth, The Last King of Scotland, Brokeback Mountain. Older: Jules and Jim, Children of Paradise, Watermelon Woman, Tongues Undtied, Rear Window, Victim, Lost in Translation, the Apu Trilogy
