| Introduction | Why "Visegripmikey"? When I was 13, I volunteered at a local bike store to "help out" and learn how to take care of my own bike. The master mechanic entrusted me with a beautiful Cinelli stem with titanium hardware, which for some reason just wouldn't hold the handlebars tightly. I don't remember how, but I got vise-grips involved and ended up mashing the stem. He then named me Visegripmikey which pissed me off, but now reminds me of my humble beginnings in the weird wonderful world of bicycles. I've been riding a bike on the roads of Toronto and Ottawa, Canada for about 25 years now. While I appreciate quality bike stuff, mostly I'm interested in getting stuff done - getting to work and home, safely, all year round. |
