| Introduction | Joanne Hedou I grew up in a town that has one of the worst toxic waste sites in the country but I didn't know it. I ran through the woods on my own from the time I was 3 or 4. That world is gone but it left me with a strong connection to the natural world. My family was considered poor but we didn't know it. That gave me the ability to live simply that I have maintained through adulthood. |
