Introduction I'm just Shelley. I've been a student, a pharmaceutical sales professional (sold drugs), an Army Wife in Alaska (not my favorite place) and now I am a full time mommy machine until my little guy goes to kindergarten. I run a hectic household with my toddler (Jackson, Jack, Mr. Duples, J-Money, Jacksonions- He is a man with many identitities) and our four ornery dogs (Ernie- The Bichon Frise with type 2 Diabetes, Wrigley- very grumpy Maltese but mommy's favorite- shhh!, Lewis and Clark- maltese puppy mill rescues). We are recovering from a year of surgeries and hospital stays as Jack underwent major heart reconstruction and the placement of a pacemaker at Duke University. So this year, we have made a big move to Virginia and are renovating our home! Come along as we learn new skills and make lots of mistakes while we tackle some major and some (shouldn't be but will become) major DIY projects!
Interests Home Improvement, Couponing, cooking, reading "the news" (aka, US Weekly).
Favorite Movies This is a tough one...because I love movies. Or at least I did when I had time to watch them. Here is incomplete list: Titanic, Dennis The Menace, Secret Window, The entire Halloween Franchise (minus Halloween 3 of course), Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, Gladiator, Office Space
Favorite Music Currently Jack likes to turn on his own music and "shakes his booty" to Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban. Neither of which I mind! In my pre-Jack life I sang and played piano..so I still have love for tunes such as Celine Dion. I especially love U2, Bryan Adams, Sting and most importantly, George Michael.
Favorite Books House of Mirth (Ok once upon a time I was an English major, so I had to throw something important sounding in here). But here is the actual truth: Sweet Potato Queen, anything by Jenn Lancaster, Mary K.Andrews (southern and mindless...sound familiar?), LIfe of Pi

For your birthday, your aunt gave you a maple syrup dispenser shaped like a rooster. Please write her a thank-you note:

Dear Auntie, By any chance did you keep the receipt? Sincerely, Shelley
