Introduction I am a painter based in Naples, Florida. My work has been shown in exhibitions throughout the United States including New York, San Francisco, Milwaukee, Scottsdale, and Birmingham, MI. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Central Michigan University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa. In 1984 I attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture on scholarship. I have taught painting at the university level, and I am the recipient of a Pollack-Krasner Award and a Michigan Council for the Arts Creative Artist Grant. In 2011 I completed the official portrait of Michigan’s Governor Jennifer Granholm, which now hangs in the capitol rotunda in Lansing. In 2013 I painted Allan Gilmour, President Emeritus, Wayne State University. In 2016 I was commissioned to paint the official portrait of U.S. Congressman Fred Upton, now hanging in the Rayburn Building in Washington, D.C. I am currently developing a series of paintings based on a floral motif.
