| Interests | I am not a fleeting fanatic or a tree hugger I am not uneducated and I am not following in anyone’s footsteps. I am as careful as I am brave and as defeated as I am successful. I have been single for over 20 years because I just will not “settle”, and thankfully have not had to. I don’t have many friends, because I don’t attend well to friendships and the time and energy they require. But I have found you to be my friends. And I have carved out time for you. You move me. In a world of routine, you refresh me. You allow me into your homes, your lives, your dreams, your fears. I stand in awe of your talents, your vulnerabilities, your complexities and your ordinariness. But more striking to me is the fact that you will take a few minutes from your lives to visit mine. That I can talk to you about chickens and cats and vegetables and you have a response. And on the most questionable days, if I can, for just a short time, return to the simplicity of the farm and take you along; it is like kindling on my inner fire. One commenter at one time wrote, “This post makes me feel like everything is all right with the world”. And I knew then, that I had been “gotten”. . |
