Introduction	Once a former aspiring academic specializing in American Evangelicalism and the Israel/Palestine conflict, I now specialize in chronic diseases management (i.e. managing my chronic diseases). The pay is terrible, the benefits few, but the job security (thanks to an almost criminal lack of research) is high. My office includes a soft bed, a great view out the window, and a "desk" on wheels that goes all the way over my queen-sized bed. The work includes lots of pills, paperwork and pillows. And, of course, plenty of time to think (though I lack the strength to overload anyone's blog feed).
