| Introduction | Hi, I'm Madeleine. I blog here and at Lunar Camel Co. (a Wordpress blog, so I can't link to it in this little box). Tiny Banquet Committee has always been a food blog but otherwise there’s little thematic continuity. I like it that way! However, if you poke around in the archives, you'll notice that the focus has always been on cooking, not restaurants. I don't enjoy taking pictures of my food in restaurants, for starters. I like to cook. I also like vintage cookbooks (books, generally) and occasionally my interests in music and film surface here too. I've lived in NYC since the late 90s, mostly in the East Village. |
Your people want to make a statue in your honor. What will it be made out of and what victory will it commemorate?
No victory needed. Fruit (apricots; grapes; pears; peaches; melons; berries of every conceivable variety, but most numerously Alpine strawberries; 'wax jamboo'; well-ripened pineapples); croquembouche; many-colored jellies around the base; flowers (lily of the valley; mimosa; violets; lilacs).
