Introduction Painting (well) is the best revenge. And more: I'm basically just a big geek and I'm a total homebody. And I have a daughter who constantly amazes me and a little boy who is a crazy monkey!
Interests Painting, good music, the sea, puttering around in the garden, vegetarianism, baking, snapshots, I love my LOMO and my Holga, seeing well-dressed folks, record shopping, murder ballads, treasure hunting (junkin'), low-toned windchimes, driving at night with the windows rolled down, I really like the color pink right now, old dress patterns, designing clothing and sewing (when I can find the time--what a scarce commodity), interior design, floorplans of old houses, car shows and hot rods, seeing what books people in fancy shelter magazines have on their shelves, NPR, I've always loved horses, autumn, the way the hills look after a good rain (all green and sparkling against the dark sky [sadly, only in Ventura]), lying awake at night and listening to the low rumble of northbound trains, wavy glass in old windows, the way sunlight moves through my house, thinking up titles for paintings, daydreaming, discovering anything that incites me to paint
Favorite Movies Anything by Wes Anderson, just about any documentary (how can you not love Grey Gardens?), I love Hayao Miyazaki's graphic novels and films, short films by Stanewicz, the brothers Quay, Lost in Translation, Gosford Park, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Haunting (the original), Harold and Maude, Heavenly Creatures, 13 Ghosts (the original), Shaun of the Dead, Bedazzled (original, of course), the Changeling, the Omen, Spider Baby, Black Narcissus, Lion in Winter, All About Eve, Amelie (I know, I know, but still...), Bullets Over Broadway, Freaks, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sunset Boulevard, the Evil Dead trilogy, City of Lost Children, Delicatessen, Ghost World, Princess Bride, Night of the Living Dead, Harvey, Donnie Darko, Smashing Time, Session 9, the Eye (the original), the Devil's Backbone

If you drive on a parkway why don't they make the whole plane out of that?

Black box driveway?
