Introduction Glenda Council Beall writes and has published poetry, personal essays, memoir, and fiction. Her background is in education and she continues to teach adults through her classes at Writers Circle and at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown NC. She is Clay County representative for NCWN West. She was the Program Coordinator for NCWN West and also served as Netwest P.R. person for a number of years. She lives on the side of a mountain in Clay County NC with her buddy, a special dog, Rocky, and a bob-tailed cat named Tiger. She finds there are never enough hours in the day to pursue all her interests. She enjoys working with writers and poets, meeting new people, and making new friends. She thinks the most important quality a woman should look for in a husband is a sense of humor. When things looked the darkest, her husband, Barry could always make her laugh.
Interests Writing, teaching, reading, sleeping, photography, genealogy, Promoting clean indoor air, having lunch with my friends, laughing, my dog, my cat, writing classes and conferences, helping others who might benefit from my experience.
Favorite Movies Wizard of Oz, The Notebook, Little Women, Cold Mountain, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and I love old musicals like Oklahoma, Annie Get Your Gun, South Pacific and Picnic. Fried Green Tomatoes, Pretty Woman, The Notebook, Julie and Julia.
Favorite Music Celtic Thunder, Celtic Woman, Il Diva, Soundtrack from Bridges of Madison County. Vivaldi, Mozart, Barogue music, Folk music, and when I write, sweet and tender classics. Old hymns, and almost anything by Alison Kraus.
