Introduction Diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer on April 26, 2013, at the age of 38. Talk about a nasty surprise. Since then, I've had a million rounds of chemo, more pills than I can count, four hospital stays, three different SBRT therapies, two major surgeries, and enough insight that my heart has been cracked wide open pretty much forever.
Interests "I'm a list maker, a risk taker, and a cookieeeee baker; I read my books out in the suuuuun, I'm a writer, I'm a biter...not really, I don't want to hurt no one." I like cheesy music, knitting needles, skiing fast, and talking foreign policy (or books. Or philosophy. Or politics. Or wine. Or, as long as I'm being honest, Matt Damon's butt). I love my family, my friends, and my cozy house. Life is unexpectedly good, cancer and all.
Favorite Movies This is basically where I out myself as someone who has nothing important to say about film. I like chick adventure films, James Bond movies (no, not the old ones - the ones with Judi Dench!), fast-paced action thrillers unless they're completely testosterone out, funny stuff, and the odd historical drama. I'm hopeless.
Favorite Music Prince, all the songs on the Glee albums (shut up), Indigo Girls, She & Him, Lady Gaga, Imagine Dragons, Megan Trainor, Adele, All the Broadway musicals, Debussy, and spa music, especially with little tinkly pianos. I dunno.
Favorite Books Oh, that's not a fair question. Here are some on my favorite shelves, though (in no particular order): Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, The Book Thief, A Farewell to Arms, Sylvia Beach and the Lost Generation, A Tale for the Time Being, Life at These Speeds, Moby Dick, Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls, The Magicians series, Zone One, Never Let Me Go, Station Eleven, All the Light We Cannot See, H is For Hawk, Peace Meals, Matterhorn, Trouble in Mind, Dreams of Trespass...You know what? Just check out my book blog, which may be why you arrived here in the first place. List above subject to change without notice

What was the stage name of your favorite actress before she was born?

I ask the questions here, not you, Google. My question is: what's my alter ego name? And I pair my first pet with the street I grew up on and get: PEPPER REVERE. It's the best name ever, isn't it?!!?
