About me

Introduction Canadian Sue left family and friends, a cool job as a journalist and the exciting, big city of Toronto to marry an Australian bloke and move to a small country town in Oz. Sue had to get used to driving trucks - on the wrong side of the road - and run-ins with too many huge, furry spiders, snakes, koalas, wombats and kangaroos. Sue and the bloke purchased a farm, had two amazing children and Sue started a new Melbourne career in communications, major events and the performing arts. Oh, the bloke was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (also know as Lou Gehrig's Disease or ALS) 15 years ago, a year after their marriage. He has confounded the 3 neurologists who each said he was unlikely to survive the next 12 months. By some lucky fluke, the bloke is still going strong and his symptoms have not worsened. This blog is an attempt to capture Sue's Aussie experience and inspiration.
