| Introduction | Dan and I have always discussed growing our family through adoption. Our children have always had a heart for those children who do not have a earthly Daddy and Mommy to care for them. After lots and lots of prayer and a family retreat, God moved in our lives and in August of 2006 we knew that God was calling us to grow our family once again. I (Joyce) asked Dan about 10 days after this decision if we could look into adopting a little one from China. He said yes. The rest is history! Not coincidently, at around this time, our daughters' birth parents were preparing themselves for the heart break of their lives--placing their daughter in a place to be found by others knowing that this was the only option for her due to her special need of a cleft lip; we speculate that they didn't have the resources to provide the surgery that she would need. We are indebted to them for choosing life for our daughter. |
