Introduction	I was born in Baltimore on the day after the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, to a mother who was a registered nurse and church organist and a father who was an engineer, reserve Naval officer, and an accomplished trumpet player. Our home was filled with books and music, and I began piano lessons and singing in choir before I even started kindergarten. I loved to read, too, and devoured all the old Bobbsey Twins and Nancy Drew books that my mother had saved. My mom gave me a diary with a lock when I was nine, and I’ve been writing ever since. After six years at Samuel Ready School, I went off to Hood College, then joined the working world, got married, and the rest is history. Five things you may not know about me: My first career was as an intelligence analyst. When I first got married, we moved to Massachusetts and my husband and I both played in a rock band. I was a cheerleader for the Baltimore Colts. I appeared on Jeopardy! I’ve worked on and appeared in local independent movies, and wrote and produced my own short film.
