Introduction | Bricolage: 1. a construction made of whatever materials are at hand; something created from a variety of available things. 3. (in art) a piece of makeshift handiwork. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/bricolage I am a jewelry and fiber artist working from my home. I have a BFA in studio art and work at a convenience store to pay the bills. Mostly, I make wearable and/or functional art. My other art includes doll-making and fiber sculpture. I am interested in many different media and often experiment with combining those media. My materials are often those that are "readily available" hence the name Bricolage Studios. Due to lack of money for equipment like torches, necessity has created this need to create from those materials I can find locally, or of course through the internet... my computer is local and so is my mailbox =) right? Anyhow, I've never blogged before and the publication "Artful Blogging" has really inspired me to get out there and try it so here it is. Emily |
