About me

Introduction I'm a small town girl. I was born and raised in Georgetown, Illinois. I never left. I was raised with two parents, two older sisters and one younger brother. Kind of the all American family. I started cooking when I was about ten years old. My mother is a great cook and I would watch her cook. While staying at my grandmothers one weekend, she showed me how to make apple pie and cole slaw. I was hooked. In my teenage years, mom decided to go back to work. So to help her out, I would start dinner every evening. Neither of my sisters were interested in cooking. And my brother was too interested in sports to think about cooking. My dad did the occasional burgers or chicken on the grill. That was the extent of his cooking. I found that I loved to cook, and I was good at it. And mom appreciated the help. Here you will find some of our families favorite recipes along with a few others we've come to enjoy. About the same time that I found a love for cooking, I also found a love for reading. My favorite genres are Western Romance (1880's), Romance, Contemporary, Fiction and Amish. Between my two favorite pastimes, maybe this is why I have also become a collector of over 100 cookbooks.
