Introduction Chintamani Rao worked for 38 years with major global advertising agency networks including Lintas, Ogilvy & Mather and McCann, and in news broadcasting. A specialist in brand and market strategy, he has advised Indian and multinational clients on automotive, financial services, food, healthcare, personal products, personal wear and corporate brands. As CEO at India TV and then at Times Global Broadcasting he managed and built three of India's leading news channels: India TV, Times NOW and ET NOW. He played an active role in regulatory issues in broadcasting, as a Director of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation and of the News Broadcasters Association; and Chairman of the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC). He retired from The Times Group as Vice Chairman of Times Global Broadcasting and Advisor to Times Private Treaties, and returned to advertising to lead R K Swamy Media Group as President. Now an independent consultant, he also serves on the TAM Transparency Panel, an advisory group of international experts on TV audience measurement.
