Favorite Movies Most anything that aired on USA's "Up All Night" and "Joe Bob Briggs' Drive-In Theater" or "Monstervision." bad horror, good horror, black comedies, inbred hillbilly cannibal movies, Masterpiece Theater and period pieces, '80s teen comedies, documentaries about drugs, zombie movies... Patrice Leconte, Jean-Pierre Melville, John Waters, Pedro Almodovar, Guillermo del Toro, Tom Tykwer, George Romero, Jean-Pierre Jeunet...
Favorite Music The Divine Comedy. MTV's late "120 Minutes" and that period of alt.music defines my musical tastes. I also deeply love the music my mother listened to when I was a small child (70s and early 80s yacht and pop rock). Though some of it is admittedly awful. I'm into moody nordic pop/rock (particularly that of Sweden); British pop/rock; new wave; an as yet specifically general type of 60s/70s hard rock; garage rock; hard psych; any metal featuring operatic, acrobatic vocals; & showtunes.
Favorite Books Far from the Madding Crowd. Old charm manuals, self-published ladies' league spiral-bound cookbooks, travel guides...
