About me

Location New Zealand
Introduction I gained a higher order of intolerance from years of experience as radio talk-show host, television chef, restaurateur, author, and politician. Unfortunately I often put pen to paper and force everyone to read my ramblings, giving them every incentive to forgo deliberation in favor of hitting the bottle. My two greatest achievements have been to give socialists ulcers, and to send my psychiatrist onto the window ledge of life. My family shifted to Australia from Japan, before dispatching me to Boarding school in NZ. This arrangement persisted till Uni where, between bouts of drinking and student misbehavior, I gained an M.A. I moved to San Francisco working in hospitality before Chef School in Paris. Two years and three culinary diplomas later I went to Kansas City, then New Orleans before returning to OZ to open my first restaurant. Eight years on I wantedmore than a relentless succession of twelve hour days. Next move was Tonga - a grass hut on an atoll off Nuku'alofa. My boss became my wife and, by virtue of the marital institution, remained my boss ever since. We arrived in New Zealand with a pair of suitcases and set about making a home, a business, and in due course, a son.
