Introduction | As a child of the 1960's and 70's growing up in the eastern foothills of San Diego County, I developed a deep and abiding appreciation for California's native landscapes. As an adult I longed for a solution to what I perceived as the on-going destruction of our natural open-spaces. During my education in ornamental landscape design, it dawned on me that there was more to garden design than mere aesthetics. This epiphany, coupled with the on-going desire to address urban sprawl convinced me to exclusively commit to designing California native gardens. Today I reside in Orange County, and run a small business offering landscape design services throughout the southern California region. I design, consult, blog, write, and lecture with the intent to increase public awareness regarding the value of ecologically balanced gardens and landscapes utilizing California native plants. |
